Sweet Storm

"More variation, and bigge bassline would be killer"

submission: Sweet Storm

I like this; it's catchy, and the chimes do mix well and add a twist to the song. It sorta sounds like a lengthy introduction in that it takes a single phrase/structure, works with it and uses different instruments, but doesn't do much to branch out FROM it. In my own mind I could see this being used as the introduction to a longer song, or even revamped and built upon with the addition of a nice, fatter, low-pitch, in-your-face bassline that differs from, but compliments, the structure of notes that currently make up the melody.

I dunno, I was never a competent critic anyway. I just likie the bass.

I heard your LoZ track and decided to check out you're music - Damn good stuff.

If you don't mind me asking...this music (newest album), it sounds like it was played on actual instruments. Is this true? If it's not, then maybe I just don't realize how good modern music-software has gotten.

Author's Response:

Actually, just like with my orchestral work, this is purely MIDI based with VSTi's. With each new rock album, I work on my mixing techniques to attempt to make the fake instruments sound more real.

Thanks for the review.

ParagonX9 - Chaoz Fantasy

"I LOVE the beginning!"

This is a great song. I first played the flash game "Transmigration" before hearing this, and I hunted for this song.

Yeah, "it's only got 3 chords," but it's innovative enough in HOW the chords are portrayed...it switches from a heavy, quick beat to a dream-like, trance-y mood on a dime...

I like it.

I'm not the biggest fan of trance-y type stuff, nor drum-n-bass...but a lot of this song had me going "Damn, this is pretty cool. WHOA, what was that, that was sweet!"

Keep up the good work.

It was a little redundant, but it's POPPIN' FRESH, YO.

Nice fusion of techno and rock.

This is one of the few techno songs on Newgrounds that I actually LIKE! It's also something I would listen to on a regular basis. Lots of effort went into this, I can tell, and it deserves to be #1.

"Cool song."

I appreciate the fact that this was all recorded then put together, done by one person, that's pretty nice. Plus, I like the fact that it actually has a tune, unlike all these other crapburgers on the Audio Portal. Good job.
